We’re currently seeking Workshop Facilitators for Community Archiving Project
As part of the Regent Park Film Festival (RPFF) commitment to fostering diversity and meaningful inclusion in the Canadian media industry and arts community, this position prioritizes applications by applicants who identify as Black, Indigenous, People of Color, person with disabilities, woman, queer, trans or non-binary person or any combination of these intersections. We encourage you to self identify in your application.
We are also prioritizing applicants local to the region of each workshop.
Project Description
Discourses on archives and historical documents are often led by brick and mortar institutions; libraries, museums and archives. Archival materials and historical documents often feel exclusive to researchers and educators. The nationwide archival project, Home Made Visible, asks how can we share the value in telling and preserving our own stories with our families and our larger communities? The Project aims to make archiving as well as storytelling accessible to the broader public.
We are looking for workshop facilitators to design and run workshops in public libraries across Canada that speak to storytelling, documentation and/or preservation.
Facilitators would provide programming services. Facilitators will be compensated (see appendix) for artist and materials fees. Marketing support and access to workshop space are included.

Qualifications:
- Proven experience in workshop design and facilitation in a community setting
- Experience working in a culturally diverse environment
- Knowledge of Anti-racist and Anti-Oppression frameworks
- Strong verbal, communication and writing skills
- Good interpersonal and time management skills

About the Project
Home Made Visible is a nationwide archival project by The Regent Park Film Festival made in partnership with Charles Street Video and York University Libraries.
Regent Park Film Festival is Toronto’s longest running free community film festival. In addition to the annual film festival and Under the Stars: Movies in the Park, we host year-round film screenings, school programs and workshops, all at no cost.

Workshop Proposal
In a Proposal of no more than 2 pages (12 pt.) include answers to the following questions:
- What kind of workshop do you propose? How does it relate to Home Made Visible? Describe the nature of the exploration, how you might design it? Include some examples of some activities you might lead.
- What would you want participants to take away from the workshop, in terms of both ideas and creations?
- Identify which location(s) and demographics you would like to engage?
Links to 2 samples of work. These can include documentation of final works created by participants in your workshop, photos of workshops you have facilitated and/or past workshop plans
Provide 2 references. Reference that can speak to the projects you have provided as samples are preferred.
Please list any materials you would need. Please note they must fit within a $200 budget.
